Our Team
Ruth Belcher
Ruth Belcher is the Founder of Global Moto Adventures, LLC, an organization dedicated to empowering women to follow their dreams of motorcycle travel, inspiring one another to build a community of like-minded souls by creating opportunities for connection and promoting the annual female-centric event, Flock to the Rock.
Born in Cincinnati Ohio, Ruth has been a wanderer at heart from an early age. She first started riding motorcycles at the age of 9 and got her first bike a year later, a Suzuki DS80. Ruth has owned several bikes over the years, however, stopped riding while raising her family. Once her boys were grown, and on their own, Ruth then purchased a Yamaha V-Star 1100 and started riding locally with other women riders.
For many years, Ruth suffered from a debilitating fear of flying and when she returned to motorcycling, discovered that she had acquired an extreme, white-knuckling fear of riding motorcycles on the freeway. To overcome her fear, Ruth embarked on an epic solo ride through 10 western states, 4,800 miles and spent 21 days on the road. This ride was life-changing for Ruth, and she finally overcame her fear of riding on the freeway, however, something was missing which was dirt, her first love. Ruth then began her search for just the right bike to become the Adventure Rider she is today. Ruth had a dream to one day see the Taj Mahal and ride a motorcycle through the Himalaya’s, so she put in motion a life-altering trip through the northern region of India, which crushed her fear of flying allowing her to live her childhood dream.

“I want to inspire and empower women all over the world and hope they too, can face and overcome the fears they may have, tackle head-on any daunting challenges in front of them. Live a life that exemplifies what it means to replace fear with love and allow oneself to live our dreams, whatever they may be.”
Tiffany Coates
Tiffany originally set off on her very first bike trip heading to India with her best friend having only two months of bike riding experience between them. It proved to be a baptism of fire as they wobbled their way out of the UK and across Europe, negotiating with the various bureaucratically obsessed border crossings as they meandered and muddled their way through Asia to India.
Breaking bones, doing bad Abba impressions and reading maps upside down all whilst wrestling a quarter ton bike with the two of them on it.
That first journey was supposed to last nine months, but Tiffany ended up crossing four continents and spending two and a half years on the road- she was well and truly bitten by the bike traveling bug.
Tiffany is now considered the world’s foremost female bike adventurer; many countries and over 200,000 miles have been covered since that first journey- she has shared the stories behind it all from Asia, Australia, Africa, the Americas, Timbuctoo, Outer Mongolia and even Everest Base Camp – on The Trail to Tibet. She is employed as an international freelance motorcycle guide.
